Did my award winning 2022 thriller predict policies floated by Trump and his advisors.
Okay, let’s be honest, Elon and Vivek proved smarter than this middling Southeast Texas thriller writer. They have not read Politikill, or at least not that I can prove. Also, this author claims no public political stance, and prides himself on giving both sides fair coverage in all his novels.
Still, Politikill addresses political corruption. I think everyone can admit political corruption – Bad.
Here are the stances Trumps advisors and Politikill agree on.
1) Term limits – Trump first addressed term limits in his 2016 - 2020 term. His advisors mentioned a potential opportunity to finally put term limits in place for Congress. From Politikill - Let’s get crazy. What if courageous legislators put term limits in place, so politicians returned to the regular world and lived with laws they passed? What if we disbanded PACs? Imagine if politicians answered to…their voters. What if policies placed caps on politicians’ media spending? What if listening to voters returned as the political endgame? Crazy, right?
2) Bloated Bureaucracy – Honestly Elon and Vivek’s plan to trim two trillion for the budget offers a better solution than Politikill’s suggested policy changes. Still, both could be used in concert. From Politikill – If term limits are invoked and politicians can no longer stay in Washington, won’t the bureaucracy step up and fill the corruption void? Bingo. Most likely, yes. Bureaucrats grasp system manipulation better than most. To correct this conundrum, bureaucratic leaders can serve in any post for a maximum of eight years. Also, after four years, bureaucrats receive a bonus to leave government employment and return to the business world. After four years in the private sector, the former bureaucrat can return as a government employee, bringing with them real-world knowledge, again receiving a bonus. The policies reward bureaucrats for circulating through the private sector and bringing best practices back to Washington.
3) A weaponized FBI, Judges, CIA, etc. – Trump promised to un-weaponize the judicial system and national enforcement agencies. In Politikill an example of this weaponization occurs - California Congresswoman Libby Lyinstein who headed an FBI Oversight Committee, found herself outed on the Tapes of Wrath. She admitted she and other legislators applied pressure to the FBI and the Director of National Intelligence to keep the tapes underground. Under pressure, the FBI buried the tapes.
Okay, let’s be honest, I showed no particular foresight attacking these points. We all knew (know) these are serious issues. I hope the newly elected government solves these issues with an even hand / a non-political agenda / making America safer and better for all Americans. My knowledge of history has taught me to be skeptical, my awe in the wisdom of the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution confirms my hope.
You'll find me sitting by my phone waiting on a call from the transition team.
A quick note - my newest novel Claws is still hanging around the top 25 - check it out.
